BAM! This is one awesome trailer….WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT? And did it live up to the hype? It definitely stoked our anticipation and we can’t wait for December 18. Watch it first then take a look at the questions we have. HERE IT IS!
Okay, here are the questions we now have:
1. Where is Luke? There are three theories. The first is that he’s not in this film very much. I actually got a chance to talk with Hamill and I know for a fact that he’s in the film. He wouldn’t tell HOW MUCH or to what extent, but we know he’s in it….so here’s the other two theories: He’s either the BAD DUDE who is pictured…which I don’t think is true because that figure is (sorry, Mark) a tad too thin for the more “muscular” Hamill. So I think it’s the third theory: Luke has become a Yoda-like hermit, and this movie involves FINDING him….basically, he’s the McGuffin. They need to find him to re-awaken the Force and save the galaxy.
2. Why so little of Carrie Fisher? And was that her voice saying “The Force is calling to you? Just let it in?”
3. Daisy Ridley is AWESOME…but (please don’t crucify us for asking)….can she carry the trilogy? J.J. loves his female leads (Felicity, Alias), but will fans react to Rey the same way they did to Luke?
4. So, John Boyega IS a Storm Trooper…right? Does it appear to you that he doesn’t necessarily realize that the “Empire/First Order” are bad guys? Maybe needs to see how bad they are.
5. WHAT’S WITH ALL THE CRYING???? The original Star Wars trilogy had NO CRYING AT ALL….did J.J. increase the tear quotient? Is that a modern-day thing that audiences need? Leia DOES NOT cry.
6. So, is Han the “wise, old believer” in the Force now? Hmmm, maybe, but for crying out loud, Han seemed WAAAAY to earnest. I didn’t see even a hint of his smart-alecky ways….
7. What the heck is going on with Oscar Isaac???
8. Was this trailer as good as the “Chewie, We’re Home” trailer? (our vote: Nope)
