Mark Hamill’s brand-new show Pop Culture Quest will be found this fall on new Comic-Con HQ streaming service from San Diego Comic-Con. With collectibles and exclusives such a giant part of San Diego Comic-Con (and such a giant part of fandom in general), this seems like a perfect fit for the streaming network. And the addition of pop-culture icon Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker is a big win.
As part of the expansion of Comic-Con’s ad-free subscription service Comic-Con HQ, the organization has announced that a new SVOD series starring Luke Skywalker himself is a go. Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest will see the Star Wars icon executive produce and star in the new series, which will feature the stories of passionate memorabilia collectors from all walks of fandom. Production on the show is set to begin in June once Hamill has completed filming on Star Wars VIII, with the series set to air on Comic-Con HQ this fall.
“I’ve been a collector all my life,” said Hamill. “This show is a natural outgrowth of that passion. Now I have an opportunity to collect other people’s collections! I can’t wait to see what’s out there and share it with the world. Collectibles are a living history of who and what we are, so we just might learn something…but there’s no doubt we’re going to have fun!”
