WATCH: LUCASFILM LAUNCHES A BRAND NEW WEEKLY “STAR WARS SHOW” — NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE INSIDE!

We’ve got Star Wars up the ying-yang these days, so this makes sense. Since we’re smack in the middle of perhaps the busiest time ever for Star Wars and its fans, this is the PERFECT time for Lucasfilm to launch a brand-new show to keep fans up-to-date on all things Star Wars. It’s called the Star Wars Show, and it features lively hosts celebrating all things Star Wars — while actually poking fun some times (they even said, “This is episode 1. You’ll like us by episode 4.”). You can watch the first episode here:

The folks at Disney know how to leverage intellectual property, and after seeing hyper-focused after-shows like Talking Dead find huge success, the Mouse House is getting ready to debut its own: The Star Wars Show.

The variety show will roll out online through various outlets, including the official Star Wars YouTube channel and website, with a focus on recapping the week in Star Wars news, along with interviews featuring celebrity fans and special guests. New, 7-10 minute episodes will drop every Wednesday at 12 p.m. PT. The series will be hosted by Andi Gutierrez and Peter Townley and produced at Lucasfilm’s San Francisco headquarters — meaning all the awesome stuff is literally just down the hall.

Although Disney-owned Maker Studios has been entrusted with developing some short-form series for the franchise, The Star Wars Show comes directly from Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. That direct relationship will give the series, which is being produced out of Lucasfilm’s San Francisco headquarters, access to exclusive news, never-before-seen footage and behind-the-scenes looks at stories from across the Star Wars galaxy, including the films, TV series, books, comics and more.
