The debut of Fox’s new 6-episode resurrection of The X-Files is nearly upon us, and to further immerse yourself in the paranormal series after its extended retirement, check out this new featurette with creator and executive producer Chris Carter discussing the show’s lasting legacy and complicated layers of mythology. The X-Files is set to return in a special two-night premiere on Sunday, Jan. 24, after the NFC Championship Game, then continuing the next night with its normal timeslot on Monday, Jan. 25 (8-9 PM ET/PT). DEN OF GEEK: What do X-files fans expect from the revival?
Back in March, when Fox made the announcement for The X-Files revival, we asked Den of Geek readers to share their X-Files memories and expectations for the six new episodes. We received an overwhelming response fans from all over the world. Comments ranged from first seeing the series as an adolescent, to having the series help fans who were dealing with the illness of a relative. “Just as you had to wait until the series finale to find out that C.G.B. Spender survived his wheelchair tumble, you will have to wait until the revival’s finale to learn what really happened in New Mexico. “In Episode 6, you’re going to see exactly what the product of that failure to die was,” series creator Chris Carter teased, according to TV Insider. What’s more, the CSM might not be the only one called out for his death-defying feats in “My Struggle: Part 2.” Those viewers who believe in Scully’s immortality will receive answers as well.
