All across America, something extraordinary happens every year about this time, as the most unassuming of locations—from shopping malls and backyards to theme parks and historic attractions—become “haunted.”
Throughout the Halloween season, these haunts range from elaborate, professional creations to imaginative, handcrafted experiences, but since they’re spread worldwide, even the most stalwart haunt fan can only get to see a handful each season, which is where the Haunted Attraction Network comes in.
Now until October 31, the Haunted Attraction Network presents HAUNTATHON 2023, the largest online celebration of haunted attractions, exploring haunts of all sizes, from the legendary to the unsung, through videos, podcasts, virtual visits and even VIP in-person experiences.
The 61-day celebration of haunted attractions is working with 13 partners that help bring the virtual experience to a global audience, giving them unparalleled peeks into more than 60 haunted attractions worldwide. Hauntathon 2023 combines tours of major theme-park haunted events with independent haunts and a variety of “home haunts,” whose elaborate thrills often belie the fact that they exist within private residences. To experience all the haunted content of HAUNTATHON 2023, visit http://hauntedattractionnetwork.com/hauntathon-2023. (A full list of scheduled haunts is below.)
“From the classic to the cutting-edge, we’re really excited to celebrate haunted attractions and the amazing people who create them,” said Haunted Attraction Network founder Philip Hernandez. “We’ll showcase the creative process behind some of the world’s most famous haunted attractions, offering a different thrill in a different way every single day until the Big Night itself.”
The title sponsor for HAUNTATHON 2023 is Gantom Lighting & Controls, which makes miniature spotlights for the world’s largest theme parks.
