IF YOU GOT $1.8 MIL, YOU CAN BUY THE REAL-LIFE HOUSE WHERE LAURIE STRODE LIVED IN HALLOWEEN

All true fans of John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN who travel to the Los Angeles area typically take a side trip over to South Pasadena to visit the hallowed grounds where Michael Myers walked and stalked his victims on that fateful Halloween night in 1978. That’s where Carpenter filmed the majority of his classic tale, including perhaps the most famous house in the film — the Laurie Strode family home, located at 1103 Fairview Avenue. You can see it here in our annual trip to Haddonfield.

That famous piece of real estate is now on sale for a cool $1.8 million. The real estate listing says this: “History, charm, and income! Welcome to this character-filled, three-unit property on Fairview Avenue in South Pasadena. This area is considered a walker’s paradise and is in the heart of the Library/Mission West district. It offers a wonderful opportunity for a savvy buyer to purchase a well-maintained a vacant income property. The garage space could be converted into an ADU to create a 4th unit and there would still be 2 parking spaces on the Oxley side of the property. This home has been in the family since the sellers’ grandparents lived here. They built the second structure over the garage in 1948.”

The thing the listing DOES NOT reveal, though, is that this house was/is one of the most famous spots from Halloween, and that hundreds of fans flock here each year to pay their respects — and to take their photo sitting on that front stoop where Jamie Lee Curtis sat, holding her pumpkin.

For the past few years, the owners fully embraced the fans. They even placed pumpkins on the front porch for fans to use to take photos. Let’s hope the eventual new owners are as accommodating… let’s hope they’re true fans as well.
