IT LOOKS LIKE WE’RE GETTING ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK’ FILM/TV PROJECTS FROM BAD ROBOT AND WARNER BROS/DC COMICS

Are you ready for some super-hero action on the dark side? Then gear up for DC’s JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, an upcoming project being produced by none other than mega-producer BAD ROBOT. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Bad Robot (what rock have you been under?), it’s the production company of J.J. Abrams. It’s the production house responsible for such genre classics as LOST, the new Star Treks, and—of course—episodes 7 and 9 of the Star Wars franchise.

This exclusive report comes to us from DEADLINE: “Bad Robot, through its new deal at Warner Media, is exclusively developing both film and TV ideas based on DC’s Justice League Dark universe at Warner Bros…. Justice League Dark (or JLD team) first appeared in the September 2011 issue of Justice League Dark #1 featuring such superheros, mostly occult and offbeat, as John Constantine, mystic and fortune teller Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man, and Zatanna.”

Other members, who joined later at various times, included Swamp Thing, Black Orchid, Doctor Mist, Frankenstein, Pandora, and Nightmare Nurse. The title launched on September 28, 2011, and brought several of DC Comics’ occult and offbeat characters, something which had been a trait of sister imprint Vertigo, back into the main DC Universe following Vertigo’s editorial change to publish purely new, creator-owned content.
