I’m a true believer, and X-files is the core of my belief system. Yup, all you other conspiracy nuts can rejoice with me — X-Files is back! According to reports by Deadline and Syfy Wire today, “Fox will be giving us 10 episodes for the 2017-2018 season. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will be returning to their roles as Dana Scully and Fox Mulder; showrunner Chris Carter will continue show running.” Full Syfy article here >>>
According to Deadline: “Technically the 11th season of The X-Files, this new run will air on Fox’s schedule either later this year or early next. Starting off with strong ratings [Strong Indeed! Scully and Mulder came back STRONG!], the previous six-episode revival of the FBI conspiracy drama debuted January 24, 2016 on the very revival friendly Fox.” Full Deadline article here >>>
There was a lot to love about the 6-part X-Files ‘mini-series.‘ Although it split up Fox and Mulder (sometime in the past), we were treated to an all-new alien invasion threat, abductions, psychedelic trips involving the Lone Gunmen, and that little-bitty red swimsuit. Speaking of the Lone Gunmen, there’s got to be some conspiratorial magic that can bring them back! I liked their very brief return in mini-series, but it’s time to correct the mistake of the original series and BRING THEM BACK!
Regardless, we’re just super-stoked to get our favorite UFO-chasing FBI agents back again. Episodes are scheduled to begin airing this fall. Long live the X-Files!!!
