Jeeze-O-Pete, it’s hard to keep up with all the deadlines that San Diego Comic-Con throws at us. If it ain’t hotel sales, it’s returning badge sales, or it’s registration deadlines for returning vendors, or ACE Parking, etc etc etc…. WHEW! Right now there are TWO important deadlines approaching.
FIRST: PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION FOR 2018 – DEADLINE: AUGUST 16
There are two tiers of Professional Levels for Comic-Con: Creative Professionals and Trade Professionals. Here the differences between the two:
The Creative Professional Badge
The creative professional badge is a complimentary Comic-Con badge offered to professionals who take an active role in the creation, design, writing, editing, or production of comics, animation, films, books, video games, or toys.
The Trade Professional Badge
The trade professional badge is offered to agents, publicists, managers, executives, marketing, sales, business development, advertising, legal representatives, and other industry professionals who need to attend the convention for business reasons.
If you’re a Professional Attendee, then you’re deadline for registering (or re-registering) is coming up AUGUST 16! According to the SDCC website: “The Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim 2018 professional application period is now OPEN! To apply as a professional for Comic-Con or WonderCon Anaheim 2018, please download the “Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim 2018 Information and Application for Professionals” PDF below. All applications and verification materials are due by August 16, 2017 for Comic-Con 2018. Applications submitted after this date will be considered for WonderCon Anaheim 2018 only.”

SECOND: RETURNING CHILD REGISTRATION FOR 2018 – DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 30
If your child attended Comic-Con 2017 with a paid adult attendee, they may be eligible to participate in our Returning Registration badge sale for Comic-Con 2018! Children who will be age 13 or older on September 30, 2017, are eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2018 Returning Registration as a junior.
A child’s eligibility will first need to be validated using their child badge from Comic-Con 2017. For instructions on how to register for eligibility, click here (http://www.comic-con.org/cci/2018/child-badge-policy). The child-to-junior validation process must be completed by September 20, 2017. Remember, you will need the physical Comic-Con 2017 child badge to complete the validation process.
Comic-Con 2018 Returning Registration will be open to all Comic-Con 2017 paid attendees. First-time attendees, professionals, guest of professionals, trade professionals, exhibitors (and exhibitor-purchased attendee badges), volunteers, staff, complimentary passes, and press are not eligible to participate in Returning Registration.
