Parking for the Con has always been a challenge. I’ve done it a few different ways: 1) For a couple years, I just parked way out along the oceanfront and took one of the rickshaws into the convention center (those things are everywhere). 2) Another year, I parked out at one of the trolly parking lots outside of downtown (near Old Town) and rode the trolly in. It worked okay….3) Then I discovered pre-paid parking with Ace Parking. Which worked great for a few years, but then this year they went to a lottery system. I did not get chosen for the lottery (even though I used three different email accounts), but one of the guys I’m going with did get chosen (he also used three different email accounts). He was chosen for the third round, which surprisingly gave us parking at the Hilton Bayfront every day for just $15 per day. AWESOME!
I just checked, and Ace has now released the remaining spots they have for parking, although they come in all different prices, from $20 to $45….but this is, by far (in my not-so-humble opinion) the best way to park in downtown.
