The Studios didn’t come. The writers didn’t show up. And the actors, for the most part, stayed away—pop culture watchers and pundits predicted a Comic-Con apocalypse. They said fans would revolt. Attendance would drop off. Hotels would be canceled. They predicted this would be the Comic-Con that never was…. Were they right? Or, like the Grinch, did they see that even without all the bright, shiny spectacles, that Comic-Con came anyway?
