San Diego Comic-con had the red-carpet premier of Star Trek Beyond. And New York Comic Con is answering back with a red-carpet of its own. According to Variety, this year’s NYCC, which runs Oct. 6 – 9, will kick off with a very exclusive, invite-only (that sucks) red-carpet event, called “Heroes After Dark,” complete with a long list of celebrities and other industry big-wigs.
This new event comes courtesy of the largest talent agency in Hollywood, Creative Artists Agency, or CAA for short, which is partnering with ReedPOP to produce the event.
Heroes After Dark will be a headline event of the convention’s new NYCC Presents lineup — which aims to expand the convention’s celebrations and activations across Manhattan and Brooklyn, utilizing venues including the Hammerstein Ballroom, Hudson Mercantile, Rock Bar NYC and Littlefield. NYCC Presents will feature events including live podcasts, gaming challenges, screenings, concerts, dance parties and more. Each individually ticketed event will take place between October 3 – 9, leading up to and through New York Comic Con.
The convention is also expanding to the theater at Madison Square Garden for a number of panels in 2016, including Q&As with the cast and executive producers of AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” and BBC America’s “Doctor Who,” “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” and “Who” spinoff “Class.”
