Calling all ladies! There’s more to female cosplay than princesses these days — although those princesses know how to bring it.
We’ll post our cosplay wrap-up later this week, but before we do that, we decided to let the ladies go first! These days, nothing compares to the elaborate costumes being put together by the women of cosplay.
And lest you think we’re just gawking or sexualizing the girls of the Con, you should hear them explain how cosplay is empowering, and allows women to portray an image they don’t normally get to portray in their work-a-day worlds. The great thing about Comic-Con is that sometimes those women who weren’t prom queen, or head cheerleader, or the most-likely-to-succeed can find a “second life” where they truly stand out. If only for a few days, they get to become the center of all the attention. Awesome! More power to ya….And don’t say that “nerds are dorky,” because the Ladies of Cosplay show us that nerds are sexy, powerful, and taking over the cosplay world.
