Relive Classic 80s VHS Horror Flicks At Slashback Video at the Mystic Museum

There’s a certain GOLDEN era for some of us horror fans (of a certain age). The decades of the 80s and early 90s produced some of the best schlocky horror classics we’ve ever seen, such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, the Halloween and Friday the 13th Franchises, not to mention Chucky, Ghost Story, Pet Sematary, Army of Darkness, Dead Alive, I Spit On Your Grave, and a whole bloody truckload of other cinema shock. And the gathering point of fandom at that time — the holy place of horror, if you will — was the video store. Friday and Saturday nights were spent lovingly perusing the aisles of Blockbuster or Pick a Flick, or any number of other VHS temples, in search of serious splatter screams or familiar scares. And it was great finding new gems, revisiting old, or just enjoying the new posters and video case covers. Time spent amongst those VHS tapes was time well spent. It kind of explains why people are now trekking across the country to visit the last remaining video store in Oregon.
