Here are some last-minute updates that just got emailed out from San Diego Comic-Con, including logistics and exclusives.

We are very excited to celebrate our 49th Comic-Con with you! Below are a couple of updates we would like to make you aware of before your arrival at the San Diego Convention Center.

Harbor Drive Closure
To improve on safety, security, and convenience, the San Diego Convention Center, the City of San Diego and the Port of San Diego will close Harbor Drive to vehicle traffic between First Avenue and Park Boulevard. This will include traffic from cars, bikes, scooters, and motorcycles, with the exception of shuttle buses and emergency vehicles. This includes rideshares!

In addition to vehicle restrictions during the event, only badged members(attendees of Comic-Con 2018) will have access to the front drive, stairs, and surrounding sidewalks of the San Diego Convention Center. So if you are planning to meet your friend in front of Hall C, make sure they have a badge or badge confirmation!

And, although we love San Diego’s adoption of dockless share bikes and electric scooters, there will be no bicycle, scooter, hoverboard, unicycle or TARDIS parking anywhere within the Convention Center’s secure perimeter.

For more information about the closure, maps of the affected areas, and shuttle transport, please visit www.comic-con.org/toucan/harbor-drive-closure-planned-comic-con-2018

Badge Privacy Updates
We have updated our privacy policy to encompass exhibitors scanning your badge. Your event badge is encoded with a number that allows exhibitors to obtain your full name, company name, address, phone/fax, and email address. If you do not want exhibitors to have your contact information, do not allow your badge to be scanned and do not give your badge to anyone else.

Comic-Con does not rent, sell, lend or give its mailing list to anyone other than parties that need the information to assist in producing our events (e.g., the registration and housing companies).

Prohibited Items
Alcohol or alcoholic beverages are not allowed inside the San Diego Convention Center or at any of our official offsite events. Bag checks may be performed at various entry locations. Wanding and metal detectors may be used at some locations as well. Make sure to leave your drones, helium balloons, helium-filled products, fireworks, handcarts, trolleys, rolling luggage, and pets (excluding service animals) at home. Absolutely no functioning props or weapons are allowed. Only active on-duty police officers may carry firearms within the Convention Center. All other persons are strictly prohibited regardless of license or status.

Have Fun
Finally – and most important of all – have a great (and safe) time at Comic-Con 2018! We work hard to put on the kind of convention we would like to attend, but there’s an extra special element to our success … you! If you see a piece of trash, pick it up. If you see someone lost, help them find where they need to go. If you stop for a picture, step aside and don’t block the aisle way. If you see something suspicious, find the nearest staff member or security guard and alert them to the situation. In summary, be excellent to each other!

Exclusives Portal

The Comic-Con 2018 Exclusives Portal random selection process is now complete!

To see if you were randomly selected to participate in any of the exclusive signings or exclusive merchandise purchasing time slots on your interest list, simply log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and select the “Exclusives” tab. Click the link to launch the Exclusives Portal, then select the “CONFIRMED” tab on the top menu bar.

If you were selected, be certain to read your selection confirmation carefully for details about redemption (where to go, what to bring, pick-up hours, etc.). Remember to bring a valid photo ID with you.

Please keep in mind that not all eligible participants were selected. While we would love for everyone to have a chance to participate, there were more eligible fans than opportunities available. Adding an exclusive signing or exclusive merchandise purchasing time slot did not guarantee selection or entry.

There will be no onsite opportunities to be selected to participate in an exclusive merchandise purchasing time slot or exclusive singing.

Thank you for your continued support. We are very grateful to receive such a high level of interest in our exclusive singings and exclusive merchandise purchasing time slots. We hope the early selection process, and the elimination of the ticketing lines onsite gives you the opportunity to spend more time doing the things you love at Comic-Con 2018!
